Feed Africa's PledgePage
My daughter watched one of the tv shows requesting donations to assist the developing nations. She started crying and asked us what we can do to help the children and donate them food because “mommy no little girl or boy should ever go to bed hungry†spoke Ally, age 5. I told her we would research together and find a good foundation to donate to. So we started a foundation of our own called “Feed Africaâ€.
Along with showing support and empathy for the African countries and communities by evolving programs that will alleviate the food situation, you can help by donating via our web site http://feed-africa.org towards our programs/schemes which are currently on going across Africa. Feed Africa International is a not for profit organization out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada with her operation in Africa and Canada. The community or co-operative gardening is to assist women, children, and families, living in areas where Feed Africa operates, to grow fruits and vegetables in their own community areas. The objective is to divide the food into thirds: 1/3 for themselves; 1/3 for the community to use as in a food bank style and as a good food box program; 1/3 to eat the participant to sell in the market to earn money and thus continue program until they are self sufficient. Feed Africa would own the land initially, however, some land will be available for the participants to purchase eventually as they become self sufficient or rent to own (work on the land and the community gardens in exchange of owning some garden space for themselves). We are raising funding for this project with many others as well. For example we are also raising funding for our farm buildings, water troughs (bole hole), water purification tanks, livestock (large & small), seeds for growing fruits and vegetables, a cannery to preserve food, a food storage center, a flour mill, etc. None of this can be possible unless we are able to get donations to assist us. Our motto is "Children is our future; our future is our children. Together we can make a difference." |
